Sir,
Excerpts on RTI very thoughtfully circulated by Col Dewan started me thinking.

Post 6th CPC , two committees (wholly composed of babus) were appointed by the PM (in good faith) to study the recommendations of 6th CPC report w.r.t. Armed Forces pay and the points raised by the three service chiefs and rectify anomalies, if any. However, both the committees just trashed the points presented by the services and came to conclusions within a matter of 2/3 days that there was no case for the Armed Forces. Obviously, the committees were biased and predetermined to reject all points.

To expose the machinations of the babus, I suggest that IESM core group could ask for the records of the deliberations of the two committees under the RTI act. This could help strengthen the cases of the Armed Forces and veterans on pay and pensions (OROP), legally and otherwise, if we are able to prove how such committees of babus work with an inherent bias and manage to convince the Ministers, including the P.M. to go against the interests of the Armed Forces.
